BNPura Lake Development:
Lake in B. Narayanapura, Mahadevapura, Bangalore development started in year 2017 by BBMP. Residents of near by planted ~280  tree's around lake's walking track (both sides) in year 2018 and taking care of them - Watering, Securing with fencing, Re-planting.

12. Sewage water needs to be blocked before entering the lake. The drainage is only for rain water and not for residential sewage.

Note: Don't throw away empty plastic containers of  your toiletries. Follow these simple steps to recycle your plastic waste like empty shampoo, conditioner and detergent bottles, broken toys or broken plastic chairs etc
  1. Collect all the waste in a box or paper bag  and Whatsapp your address to 8800714236
  2. Every Saturday and Sunday your bag with all the plastic waste will be collected.
  3. This will them be sent to Shayna Eco-Unified, who convert this plastic waste to tiles and bricks which can be used for construction.

2nd Feb '19: HUL Co, Volunteer, Police team, BBMP & students & all others (~400) participated in Lake cleaning & beautification activities.... Photos given below.

Actions Ahead Jan '19:
  • Allow people to adopt Plants: 1 - 4 each member, Adoption charges: Rs. 100/- (will update)
    • Watering is taken care but Adopted family also can take care of water
    • Adopted family's role: Know about the plant, Kitchen waste & Compost, watering, Fencing, Display their Name!!
  • Allow people to plant more during rainy season: will provide guidelines of what plants & where to plant
  • Fencing of broken area's to protect from Cows & un-athorised people entry
  • PVC piping across the Track to supply water - Adoption charges can be used to buy & do piping during rainy season.
  • Cleaning of Lake Bed (before rains) and form small Island & plant Banyan Tree !!

Three Years Later i.e. May 2021: Lot of Indian beach trees's are grown or growing with the efforts of volunteers for applying water during summers 🌱🌴

  • From 2018-21: Around 1500 Indian beach tree's planted in BNPura lake 
  • 15-20% tree's survived and will plant more in the following years :)

Happy to share that 100+ tree's (Kanuga / Indian Beech) planted in one day i.e. 14th July 2018 in B.Narayanapura area (Road side & around Lake). Am confident that will take care of them to grow in this monsoon :)
